01 The basics

The tournament runs from 24 June to 25 July 2027 with 32 teams, the same size as 2023. It's the first Women's World Cup in South America.

The final is at the Maracanã in Rio de Janeiro, the stadium of the 1950 Maracanazo and the 2014 men's final.

02 Who to watch

Spain are the holders after beating England 1–0 in 2023. The United States have the most titles with four, and Germany have two.

Brazil reached their only final in 2007, losing 2–0 to Germany. Marta, the tournament's all-time top scorer with 17 goals, played in that final.
