01 Two finals, one goal each

Spain won the 2023 Women's World Cup 1–0 against England, with Olga Carmona scoring in the first half in Sydney.

Three years later the men won 1–0 too, Ferran Torres scoring in the 106th minute against the holders Argentina at MetLife Stadium.

02 Why it had never happened

Germany and the United States had each won multiple Women's World Cups, and Germany four men's titles, but never with the titles overlapping. Spain's two wins came inside one men's cycle.
